Dr. Albert E. Ko, MD
Dr. Ko’s exceptional education, training and experience has enabled him to become an excellent Plastic Surgeon. He completed his undergraduate studies at The Pennsylvania State University obtaining a Bachelor of Science in Biology. His Medical Degree is from Drexel University School of Medicine (formally Hahnemann University School of Medicine). He completed a rigorous 5 year General Surgery residency training program at The Graduate Hospital in Philadelphia, which was affiliated with The University of Pennsylvania’s Hospital known as HUP. While at The Graduate Hospital he Served as Administrative Chief Resident in his final year and was named Best Teaching Resident 2 years in a row. This was followed by Plastic Surgery Residency at University of Massachusetts Hospital (UMASS).
Dr. Ko is certified by The American Board of Plastic Surgery (ABPS) and the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS) Maintenance of Certification. Which is a maintenance program that cycles every 7-10 years. He is also a member of The American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS) and the New Jersey Society of Plastic Surgeons (NJSPS).

SURGERY PROCEDURES
Plastic surgery and Cosmetic surgery and terms that are often used interchangeably by the public. Plastic surgeons that are Boarded by The American Board of Plastic Surgery must under take rigorous training that takes years to accomplish. This training is no less than six years and does not uncommonly take 7 or 8 years. After Medical School. Often times surgeons become double boarded in two specialties. Dr. Ko achieved dual Board Certification in General Surgery and Plastic Surgery.
Plastic surgeons by the very nature of their education are trained in cosmetic surgery techniques and specific procedures. UMASS like many other training programs send its residents for specialized experience in cosmetic surgery. As a UMASS resident Dr. Ko spent 3 months at The Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City learning from some of the most prominent Plastic Surgeons in the world.
At his practice in Morristown New Jersey Dr. Ko sees patients for both cosmetic and reconstructive procedures. Most procedures are performed in the hospital or Hospital’s surgery center. Only Board Certified Anesthesiologists work in the facilities where he operates.
Some of the procedures he performs are Botox injection and facial fillers (Juvederm) performed in his private office. Whereas eyelids lifts, abdominoplasty, liposuction, breast augmentation and breast lifts are performed in the hospital or surgery center. Some of the reconstructive procedures he performs are reconstruction of facial defects after Moh’s Surgery (a surgery carried out by a Dermatologist to remove skin cancer), breast reconstruction after mastectomy, breast reduction, complex wound management and emergency care for individuals injured in an accident.

Dr. Ko realizes that it is common for clients to view photos of before and after results. However, he asks his clients to consider that those photos are most likely only the very best samples of a practices work. You are not seeing samples of all their results. Dr. Ko’s meticulousness and sincerity stretches beyond the ordinary. Most of his clients prefer to remain anonymous, therefore, their privacy is respected and before and after photos are only shown to prospective clients in the privacy of his office.

Welcome to Northern New Jersey Plastic Surgery located in historic Morristown New Jersey! This is home to the private practice of Dr. Albert Ko.
Dr. Ko began his medical career in 2000 at The Cambridge Hospital in Cambridge Massachusetts. There he created and grew a thriving hospital based practice. He was named Chief of the section of Plastic Surgery in his second year of practice. He was also a Clinical Instructor of Surgery for the Harvard Medical School.
In 2008 Dr. Ko and his family relocated to New Jersey where he was raised. He wanted to be closer to his family and his wife’s family who are from Philadelphia.
He is dedicated to his patients and brings years of experience, professionalism and genuine concern to his practice. He believes patient education is so important in order to achieve excellent outcomes. Much time is spent with each patient in one on one consultation with Dr. Ko. He prefers not to use physician extenders (like Physician Assistants or Nurse Practitioners) he wants to meet each person individually and get to know them and their expectations. Since he is in private solo practice he can spend as much time as needed with each patient. This way he can develop a working relationship with every patient. It is through this type of relationship that he feels the best outcomes can be achieved.
